THE NOTEBOOK (Broadway)
YOUNGER ALLIE: ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. Female. Late teens/Early 20s. Any ethnicity. Smart, witty, well-educated and beautiful. A thrilling singer.
MIDDLE ALLIE: ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. Female. Late 20s/Early 30s. Any ethnicity. Smart, witty, well-educated and beautiful. Heartbroken. A thrilling singer.
OLDER ALLIE: ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. 70s. Female. Any ethnicity. Suffering from dementia in a nursing home. Sometimes the real word peeks through and she is lucid, but mostly it is all confusion. Does not recognize her husband Noah, who comes every day without fail to read to her from the notebook. A very strong singer.
YOUNGER NOAH: ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. Male. Late teens/Early 20s. Any Ethnicity. Handsome. Witty. Poor. Slightly mischievous. An excellent singer (Ukulele/Guitar experience a plus).
MIDDLE NOAH: ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. Male. Late 20s/Early 30s. Any ethnicity. Handsome and strapping. Hurting and yearning. As in love with Allie as he was when he met her. An army vet. An excellent singer.
OLDER NOAH: Male. 70s. Any ethnicity. Frail but has a crystal clear memory of his life and his relationship with Allie. Seems curmudgeonly at times, but has a heart of gold - especially in his dedication to his wife. A strong singer who has access to emotional vulnerability.
