Dorset Theatre Festival, in Dorset, VT, seeks Equity actors for roles in its 2025 Main Stage summer season, including Salvage by Lena Kaminsky, The Book Club Play by Karen Zacarías, Satellites by Erin Breznitsky, and Other Desert Cities by Jon Robin Baitz.
Please bring a 1-3 minute contemporary monologue of your choice.

ELAINE - 60s, Works at the dump – or was she born at the dump? Salt of earth with the soul of a poet. Elaine drops knowledge but is figuring it out along the way for herself. Never teaching a lesson or precious.
KENNY - 40s, Works at the dump. He is the guy who maybe should have stopped partying in his 30s but didn’t.

ROBERT NOVUM SMITH JR - 30/40s, male-presenting, not Black. ANA’s golden-boy handsome, charismatic, underachiever husband who is starting to search for meaning. Met in college. Upper-crust background. Also plays SAM, Wal-mart guy.
WILLIAM LEE NOTHNAGEL - 30/40s, male-presenting, not Black. ROB’s conservative, well-read, well-dressed, disciplined college roommate. ANA’s former boyfriend. History buff. Unmarried. Also plays FRANK, a Secret Service agent.
JENNIFER McCLINTOCK - 30/40s, female-presenting, not Black. ANA’s friend. Pretty. Shy. Smart. Tends to burst out with awkward truthful comments. Despite some lack of self-confidence, she is the grounding center of the group. Unorganized and oblivious to her own attractiveness. Unmarried. Also plays JEN, a jaded literary agent.
LILY LOUISE JACKSON - 20s, female-presenting, Black. A go-getter. Former debate captain who is on the cusp of all current trends and yet can still put her foot in her mouth in social occasions. Laughs at appropriate and inappropriate times. A great lover of books and ANA’s protégé at the paper. Also plays MRS. SIMPSON, sky diver.
ALEX - 30/40s, male-presenting, any race/ethnicity. The new guy. A very smart, well-read academic who has lost his moorings and is searching for real connection. Professor of comparative literature. Also plays CARL, inmate book dealer.

BROOKE WYETH - Early 30s. Fierce intellect, sharp wit, soulful beauty. Bouts of depression. But a courageous survivor. A writer home from NYC to visit her parents in the desert. She has secretly written a book that exposes the deep family secrets of conservative personal and public politics. It all gets exposed!!!
TRIP WYETH - 20-something. Very smart and creative. Very bohemian in a stylish and cultured way. Full of humor, wit, anarchy and love. Brooke’s younger brother. Producer, creator of a hit TV show that is totally crass, hip, funny and profit motivated.
