SEEKING
Seeking energetic performers 18+ for Multi-cultural, local mini-tour, Equity TYA production of a new 45-minute book musical using the songs of George & Ira Gershwin with script by Rodrigo Nogueira. The producer and director are strongly dedicated to interracial casting and ethnic minorities are greatly encouraged to attend.
PREPARATION
A Gershwin song or something from the American Standard Songbook. Bring picture and resume.

BREAKDOWN
Hope – Hope is in her early 20’s, strong personality, has a great heart. She came from a small town in middle America to spend the summer in New York and audition for musicals on Broadway. She knows what she wants, but she is willing to give up her personal dreams to be a part of something bigger.
George - Gerorge is a Mexican Immigrant in his early 20’s. He’s romantic and witty. George loves the theatre and is the local drama teacher in his community. He is very opinionated and stands for what he believes, but sometimes ends up making assumptions about people because of his difficult past.
Lourdes – George’s Aunt. She is Mexican and in her late 30’s/early 40’s . She has a big Personality. Lourdes lives for her nephew and is always in a good mood. She tends to speak really fast when she is nervous or excited.
Zayr – Is the local bodega owner. He is of Middle Eastern decent. Zayr also owns the building that houses the local theater and is Lourdes's landlord. He is very naive, makes jokes and is secretly in love with Lourdes. This performer will also double and play minor roles. Zayr is in his late 30’s/early 40’s
Joanne - African American, A Broadway producer. She is quick and has a very dry sense of humor. This performer will also double and play minor roles. Joanne is in her 30’s. She does much of the comedy.
This production is performed in the mornings in a special 45-minute version for elementary and middle school students. There is a Q&A session with the students after each performance.
Transportation to and from the schools is provided from the Inside Broadway office located in mid-town Manhattan.
PLEASE NOTE: All actors are hired as Actor/ASMs and will be required to load in/load out. Also note, that the work day will be very early mornings into mid-afternoon. Most performances are at 9:00 AM. & 10:30AM
All must be Strong Movers Seeking big, warm personalities. All ethnicities are strongly encouraged to attend. Must be comfortable singing in various styles and have facility communicating with young audiences early in the morning.
