BREAKDOWN

SYNOPSIS: Two Mormon missionaries ring the doorbell of Ethel Merman and hilarity ensues. On the journey to self-discovery it is the road less travelled with one of the great icons of the American Musical theatre. The Book of Merman is a “high concept mash-up” - Columbus Underground.

SEEKING:

[ETHEL MERMAN]
40s-50s female. Any ethnicity. Brassy, independent, full of energy. Distinctive and powerful voice. Not looking for a Merman impersonator, rather someone who embodies her spirit. Vocal Range: E3 - D5.

[ELDER SHUMWAY]
20s male. Any ethnicity. Mormon missionary, a closeted theatre performer wannabe. Endearing if not always the most efficient missionary. Vocal Range: C3 - Ab4.

[ELDER BRAITHWAITE]
20s male. Any ethnicity. A seriously buttoned down Mormon missionary. Vocal Range: C3 - Ab4.
