Breakdown

There will be four roles available for AEA artists and one AEA/ASM while other roles will be filled by EMC's and community artists.

D is a young outcast who escapes into a world of stories. He keeps a book, The Book of D, to grapples with the tough things in his life — his parents’ divorce, his lack of friends, and the reasons for everything. When he makes a new friend, Blu, who introduces him to Greek mythology, friendship becomes a new story for D to write. The production is a non-musical that welcomes ethnic diversity throughout the cast, especially in the myths. The Growing Stage Theatre is located in northwestern New Jersey and no regular mass transportation is available. Own transportation is strongly recommended.

MOM, a nurse in her 30's

TEACHER, a writing teacher of 25-30

DRIVER, a bus driver of 40-50

A mythological chorus in their 20's will play various roles including ICARUS, EURYIDICE; ORPHEUS; HADES; HERO; LEANDER; THESEUS; THE MINOTAUR; and KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE.
