Seeking energetic Equity performers for Multi-cultural local touring Equity TYA production of Duke Ellington’s SOPHISTICATED LADIES.

Preparation
Prepare a brief song preferably in style of show. Bring sheet music; accompanist provided.

NYC School tour rehearses: 1/11-1/22/16
Performances: 1/25 - end of March.
This show will be performed in NYC public elementary, middle and high schools. There will be a one week layoff during 2/15 - 2/21

Callbacks on Wed, December 16th. You will be dancing on the callback day.

Breakdown

SEEKING:
A multi-cultural cast of four performers (2 men and 2 women). All should be strong singers who dance at soloist level. All must be able to play a range of characters (ages early 20s to early 30s) and give 100% at a 9:00 am performance.

Theatre, Jazz and Tap background in dance needed.

Performers of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to attend.

All vocal types/ranges.

Must be comfortable singing in various styles and have facility communicating with young audiences. The producer and director are strongly dedicated to interracial casting and ethnic minorities are greatly encouraged to attend.

Sophisticated Ladies is performed in the mornings in a special 45-minute version. There is a Q&A session with the students after each performance. Transportation to and from the schools is provided from the IB offices.

All roles will be designated Actor/ASM positions.
