ALL ACTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO AUDITION, REHEARSE, AND TRAVEL FROM NYC.
ALL ACTORS WILL BE SIGNED AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS and will be required, as such, to lift scenery and sound equipment during daily load-in and load outs
ALL CHARACTERS MUST SING! This is a musical based on the popular children's' book SKIPPYJON JONES by Judy Schachner. All MUST be versatile with comedic flair. Also must be able to carry tight harmonies.
Seeking a diverse company. Ethnic performers encouraged to submit.
SEEKING:
SKIPPYJON
18+ tenor. NOT Caucasian. To play our hero, a Siamese Cat with a big imagination.
NIEVE QUE
Female, 18+ mezzo with pop belt. Spanish dialect needed, to play a beautiful, funny, and independent princess. Think a young Sophia Vergara. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.
POQUITO TITO
Female 18+ Soprano with Pop Belt. Shorter than 5’3”, Spanish dialect a plus, to play Skippyjon’s best pal, a boy. He is tough and macho, despite his small stature. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.
DON DIEGO
Male, 18+ baritone. Spanish dialect needed, pack leader of the Chihuahuas. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.
MAMA JUNEBUG/ THE WICKED BRUJA
Comic character actor, male, 18+ bari-tenor. Southern and Spanish Dialects needed, to play multiple roles including a mama Cat and an evil Spanish Witch.
