[MARK ROTHKO] ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. 50s-60s. An irritable, passionate, and intelligent painter in his 50s who specializes in Abstract Expressionism. The famous painter wears thick glasses and old work clothes. He is confident and intolerant of ignorance. An introvert and pessimist.
[KEN] any ethnicity 20s-30s. An aspiring painter in his 20s who is quiet, thoughtful, and nervous around Rothko at first. Ken is extroverted and optimistic and an eager student of Rothko's lessons. But Ken is also ambitious, hard-working, and impertinent. He seems to be hiding a dark past.
