ELEMENO PEA
by Molly Smith Metzler. Director: Brendan Burke.
1st rehearsal: June 5, 2018. Runs June 22 – July 8, 2018.
Michaela (30’s) - Trophy wife of Peter Kell, and owner of the palatial estate on Martha’s Vineyard where the play takes place. Strikingly beautiful and impeccably groomed, but in crisis underneath it all. Educated in the Ivy League, but not from money originally.
Simone (20’s) - A very poised young woman. Devon’s sister, and originally from Buffalo, she’s been working as Michaela’s extraordinarily well-paid assistant this summer. An aspiring author.
Devon (20’s) - Simone’s sister, working-class from Buffalo, very unfamiliar with the scope of wealth in Michaela’s world. In a bit of a rut in her own life, she’s concerned with her sister’s attraction to her current environment.
Ethan (25-35) – A friend of Michaela and Peter’s. Shallow, handsome and sun-kissed, high-status and takes himself very seriously.
Jos-B (30-50) - Latino. The property caretaker, originally from Puerto Rico. Hates his boss, and often exhibits that with grand profanity, but will hide it as necessary.

HONKY TONK LAUNDRY
by Roger Bean. Director: Michael LaFleur.
1st rehearsal: June 26, 2018. Runs July 13 – September 9, 2018.
Lana Mae Hopkins: (30 - 45). Lana Mae runs the Wishy Washy Washateria. She’s been in a bad marriage for five years, but is oblivious to her husband’s philandering and cheating. Her thoughts regarding marriage and love are throwbacks to the fifties, as evidenced by her rendition of ‘Stand By Your Man.’ It is only when Katie helps show her the truth that she is able to break free of her old thoughts. She dresses brightly and uniquely, her hair is larger than normal, and she lives her life through colorful Southern colloquialisms. Cheerful, big-hearted, a real diamond-in-the-rough. Mezzo-alto with strong belt. Strong movement abilities a must.
Katie Lane Murphy: (18 - 40). Katie finds a job working for Lana Mae in the laundry, and sets out to help Lana Mae break free from her husband. At the same time, Katie is struggling with her own obsession with her ex-boyfriend, who still figures prominently in her imaginary love life. KATIE is a bit more prim and proper than Lana Mae, with a touch of neurosis thrown in for good measure, and her accent is not nearly as strong. Katie learns from Lana Mae how to open up and face her fears, especially after the pills kick in. Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt. Strong movement abilities a must.

BANG BANG!
by John Cleese. Director: James Glossman.
1st rehearsal: July 17, 2018. Runs August 10 – September 9, 2018.
General Casting Note:
Play takes place in the fashionable Paris of 1890. This is noted for character and style only. With only one exception (specified below), all characters use Standard East Coast American speech.
DUCHOTEL - 50s/early 60s - Gentleman and gunsmith. Tall, stately, obsessively proper. Seems the definition of stodgy, absent-minded, respectable middle age, but can move—-and even leap—-quite quickly when absolutely necessary.
LEONTINE - 40s - Wife of Duchotel. Well-to-do Parisian woman of fashion, beginning to worry that time is passing her by. Seems at first rather pampered and vague, but way quicker on the uptake than even she thinks, especially when the pressure’s on. As well as extremely fluent with extravagant and elaborate language, MUST BE A SKILLED PHYSICAL COMEDIAN. This is a significant element of her role.
DR MORICET - 40s - Family doctor of the Duchotels: confidential friend of Duchotel, madly in love with Leontine. Writes—and reads aloud—-terrible love poetry, which he has self-published. Fast-talking, light on his feet, with all the instincts of a confidence man, even if none of the skills. Always a beat behind, but always running to catch up. Lots of physical comedy as well.
BABETTE - early 20s - The Duchotels’ French maid. Extremely energetic and helpful, even when nobody wants her to be. SPEAKS WITH A NEARLY IMPENETRABLE “FRENCH ACCENT”—which everyone else in the play, all of the French, think makes her some kind of foreigner. Also plays POLICEMAN.
GONTRAN - 20s - Nephew of Duchotel. A useless but very cheerful and energetic young man of fashion. Always well dressed and very short of money, but entirely delighted by nearly everything. Not necessarily the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.
CASSAGNE - 50s/60s - Wealthy landowner from Tours, and old friend of Duchotel. A litigious, self-involved dandy who is insanely jealous of his wife—-who is having an affair with Duchotel. Should if possible be shorter than Duchotel, and similar in general build to Dr Moricet.
MME LATOUR - 50s/60s/70s - Retired Great Actress of the Old School. Now Concierge (and self-appointed Housemother) of the block of flats apparently used almost exclusively by ladies and gentlemen of fashion who are cheating on their spouses. Mme Latour loves everyone, and fashion, and the Grand Old Days which were far better than these, and especially loves...love.
INSPECTOR BRIDOIS - 30s/40s/50s - A Great Detective, at least in his own mind. A fierce bulldog (terrier! bloodhound!) always and actively on the trail and on the hunt.

THE MYSTERY OF LOVE AND SEX
by Bathsheba Doran. Director: Melisa Annis.
1st rehearsal: August 28, 2018. Runs September 14 – 30, 2018.
Charlotte: Female, 20-26. Intelligent, articulate, sensitive, combative and needy. She is a demanding friend and an adored daughter. Despite her quick wit, spiky attitude and intellectual tantrums she is fragile and very caring of those she loves. We follow her as she discovers and develops her own identity and her place in the world. She attends an Ivy League school with her best friend Jonny. This role requires nudity.
Howard: Male, 50’s A brilliant, eccentric, frustrated (yet successful) fictional crime writer who adores his little girl. Born to an Orthodox Jewish family in NYC, Ivy League educated, he has moved to his wife Lucinda’s birthplace in the South where he and his wife raised their daughter. Howard clings on to his NYC identity despite living in the South for the majority of his daughters life. He is very charming and quick witted.
Lucinda: Female, 50’s. Free spirit, Ivy League educated, southern beauty – but not the Southern Belle kind, converted to Judaism for her husband and then disowned by her own family. She is a devoted mother, but does not fuss about the little things, she copes with her marriage (which after 20 plus years is void of affection, but not necessarily love), she drinks a bit, quits smoking, picks up smoking pot. As Charlotte goes on her own journey of independence and growth, Lucinda discovers that she also longs for a new adventure.
Jonny: Male, 20-26. African American. Charlottes is his best friend, childhood neighbor, college buddy and frenemy. He loves Charlotte deeply, but she drives him crazy at times. Raised in a religious Christian home, Jonny often feels like an outsider, and works hard at hiding his true self to the world. He is tender, smart, quick witted, attends an Ivy League school, and a very talented writer/philosopher. This role requires nudity.
Howard’s Father- (70’s) Nonspeaking role.

PAPERMAKER
by Monica Wood. Director: Brendan Burke.
1st rehearsal: September 18, 2018. Runs October 5 – 21, 2018.
Ernie Donahue (60’s)- VP of the local union for the paper factory, currently on strike. A likable, hard-working man, he has (inexplicably) decided to build an ark in his backyard, disconnecting himself from the striking workers.
Marie Donahue (60’s)- Ernie’s wife, sick with cancer. Emotionally strong despite her illness, she doesn’t understand the ark building of her husband but will support him, and urges him back to re-join the striking workers.
Jake Donahue (20’s) – Ernie and Marie’s son. A striking worker, he’s considering his position, especially because of his young marriage, and baby on the way.
Henry John McCoy (60’s) - CEO of Atlantic Paper Company, the NYC-based owner of the paper mill. Out of place in this rural world, he believes he’s made the right choice for all involved.
Emily McCoy (20’s) – Henry’s daughter, a Ph.D. candidate. Seeking connection with her father.
Nancy Letourneau (50’s) – A home-health nurse, wife of the union president and friend to Ernie and Marie.
