ELLE WOODS: High Pop Belt. 20’s. Sweet, bubbly, Delta Nu President Elle follows her ex-boyfriend, Warner, from UCLA to Harvard Law School. In her attempts to become what Warner wants she realizes that she is so much more than “blonde.” Bright, attractive, and determined, Elle is the center of the show and sings throughout including “Omigod You Guys,” “So Much Better,” “Take it Like a Man,” and “Legally Blonde.”
WARNER HUNTINGTON III: Pop Tenor. 20’s. Handsome, charming, and charismatic, Warner dumps Elle before leaving for law school. Despite his fondness for Elle, he can’t see past her looks and take her seriously. While not unkind, he is pompous and self-centered. Sings “Serious.”
EMMETT FORREST: Tenor. Mid 20’s – Early 30’s. A recent Harvard Law graduate and TA for Callahan, genuine and kind Emmett befriends Elle and uses his experience as an outsider to help her realize her full potential. Sings “Chip on my Shoulder.”
VIVIENNE KENSINGTON: Pop High Belt. 20’s. Smart, savvy, and driven Vivienne is Warner’s new “serious” girlfriend. While initially threatened by Elle’s ability to distract Warner, Vivienne becomes one of Elle’s strongest allies. Sings “Legally Blonde Remix.”
PROFESSOR CALLAHAN: Baritone. 40’s - 50’s. Callahan is the arrogant and clever Criminal Law Professor at Harvard. While encouraging of Elle’s legal career, he is later revealed to have ulterior motives. Sings “Blood in the Water.”
PAULETTE BONAFANTE: Soulful High Belt. 30’s - 40’s. Owner of the Hair Affair Salon, Paulette befriends Elle and encourages her to be true to herself. Born in Boston’s working class, boisterous and big-hearted Paulette longs for the love of a good man. Sings “Ireland.”
BROOKE WYNDHAM: Pop High Belt. 20’s - 30’s. A former Delta Nu and queen of her own fitness empire, Brooke is wrongfully accused of killing her elderly, wealthy husband and hires Callahan to lead her defense. Strong-willed and smart, she sees Elle’s potential. Sings “Whipped into Shape.”
ENID: Pop High Belt to F. 20’s. A fellow Harvard Law student, camo-wearing, smart Enid’s vocal feminism distinguishes her from the rest of her classmates. Sings in “The Harvard Variations.”

MRS. DOLLY GALLAGHER LEVI: Alto Belt. Late 30’s – 40’s. Dolly Levi is an unflappable matchmaker, charismatic opportunist, and professional meddler in everyone’s business. She lives life with gusto, heart, and a commanding presence. Her songs include “I Put My Hand In,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” “Hello, Dolly” and “So Long, Dearie.”
ERNESTINA: Mezzo. 20’s- 30’s. Dolly’s calculated match for Horace Vandergelder, Rubenesque Ernestina is raucously loud and sans social graces.
AMBROSE KEMPER: Tenor. 20’s. A penniless young artist, Ambrose is desperately in love with Ermengarde. He employs Dolly’s services to secure their marriage despite Ermengarde’s custodian uncle’s disapproval. He must be a good dancer.
HORACE VANDERGELDER: Baritone. 40’s - 50’s. The well-known first citizen of Yonkers and half-a-millionaire, Vandergelder is the proprietor of the hay and feed store. Miserly, gruff, and unwavering, he employs Mrs. Levi to find him a wife. He sings “It Takes A Woman.”
ERMENGARDE: Mezzo. Early 20’s. Vandergelder’s 17-year-old niece, Ermengarde is desperately in love with Ambrose Kemper. Her Uncle’s disapproval of their match is the source of her perpetual angst and tears.
CORNELIUS HACKL: High Baritone. 30’s. The 33-year-old chief clerk of Vandergelder’s feed store, timid Cornelius is over-worked, under-paid, and yet remains eager to please. He longs for an adventure in New York City and springs at the first chance he gets to take one. His songs include “It Only Takes a Moment.”
BARNABY TUCKER: High Baritone. 20’s. Eager and naïve, Barnaby is Cornelius’ 17-year-old faithful right hand. He is easily swept up in Cornelius’ New York City adventure. He must be a strong dancer.
IRENE MOLLOY: Mezzo with lyrical mix. 30’s. A millineress and proprietor of her own hat shop in New York City, Irene was widowed too young and longs to reconnect with romance and life’s lighter side. She sings “Ribbons Down My Back.”
MINNIE FAY: Mezzo with bright mix. Early 20’s. Minnie is Mrs. Molloy’s young employee. A sweet chatterbox, she is a running commentary on propriety or lack thereof. She must be a good dancer.
RUDOLPH: 20’s-40’s. Rudolph is the Major-Domo of the Harmonia Gardens Restaurant in New York City.
JUDGE: 30’s-50’s. The Judge is a seasoned magistrate moved by Dolly’s romantically spun stories.

SEUSSICAL – THE MUSICAL

THE CAT IN THE HAT: Male (low baritone) or female (alto belt). The Cat is the essence of mischief, fun and imagination. Though he stirs up trouble, the Cat always sets things right in the end. He plays multiple parts interwoven through the play and sometimes improvises with the audience. A presence in almost every scene, the Cat must be a strong singer with strong movement skills and comic ability. His songs include “Oh The Thinks You Can Think,” “A Day for the Cat in the Hat,” and “How Lucky You Are.”
HORTON THE ELEPHANT: Male, baritone. Horton is a gentle, imaginative elephant living in the Jungle of Nool. His big heart and strong sense of responsibility lead him to protect and eventually save the tiny planet of Who. He sings “Horton Hears a Who” and “Alone in the Universe.”
GERTRUDE MCFUZZ: Female, Soprano with good mix. Unassuming Gertrude is a shy and kind bird living in the Jungle of Nool. Her feelings for Horton prompt her to go to great lengths to attract his attention and garner his affection. She sings “Notice Me Horton.”
MAYZIE LABIRD: Female, alto with high belt. Self-serving and vain, Mayzie is a glamorous bird living in the Jungle of Nool. She exploits Horton into fostering her egg while she flies south for a vacation. She sings “Amazing Mayzie.”
SOUR KANGAROO: Female, alto with high belt. A brassy diva, the Sour Kangaroo torments Horton for his belief in the tiny planet of Who. She should be a strong singer and also voices her Young Kangaroo. She sings “Biggest Blame Fool.”
THE MAYOR OF WHOVILLE: Tenor. 30’s - 40’s. The Mayor of Whoville is JoJo’s father. Exasperated and confounded by his son’s “thinks,” he takes desperate measures to do what he believes is right for his family. He sings “How to Raise a Child.”
MRS. MAYOR: Mezzo with a good mix. 30’s - 40’s. Mrs. Mayor is JoJo’s mother. She and the Mayor resort to sending JoJo away to military school in order to rectify his constant “thinking.” She sings “How to Raise a Child.”
GENERAL GENGHIS KAHN SCHMITZ: Baritone 40’s - 50’s. The General runs the military academy where JoJo is sent. Pompous and proud, the General tasks his cadets. He sings “Military Academy.”

CABARET

Seeking:
MASTER OF CEREMONIES: Tenor. 20’s - 40’s. The Master of Ceremonies is the androgynous, hypersexual emcee of the Kit Kat Klub. He is the embodiment pre-WWII Berlin’s gaiety and dark underbelly, and comments on the era’s social and political turbulence in song and dance. Must be able to move well. His songs include “Wilkommen,” and “If You Could See Her.”
CLIFFORD BRADSHAW: Baritone. 20’s-30’s. A writer from Harrisburg, PA, Cliff is handsome, naïve, and a hopeless romantic. He becomes swept up in the glamour of the Kit Kat Klub and infatuated with its featured cabaret singer, Sally Bowles. He sings “Don’t Go.”
ERNST LUDWIG: Tenor. 20’s - 30’s. Charming, Aryan Ernst meets Cliff on the train to Berlin and quickly befriends him. His amiable solicitations are eventually overshadowed by his revealed affiliation with the Nazi party. He sings “Tomorrow Belongs To Me.”
FRAULEIN SCHNEIDER: Alto. 40’s-60’s. Fraulein Schneider is the German owner of the boarding house where Sally, Cliff, Fraulein Kost, and Herr Schultz reside. She is resilient in her struggle to maintain her middle-class status, but unable to weather the storm of anti-Semitism in her romance with Herr Schultz. Her songs include “So What” and “What Would You Do.”
FRAULEIN KOST: Mezzo. 40’s. Fraulein Kost is a prostitute working out of Fraulein Schneider’s boarding house. She tries in vain to hide the parade of sailors entering and leaving her room, and eventually confesses her allegiance to the Nazi party. She sings “Tomorrow Belongs To Me – Reprise.”
HERR SCHULTZ: Tenor. 40’s-60’s. Jewish Herr Schultz is the owner of a Berlin fruit stand. He is warm, wise, and endearingly charming. Despite his fondness of Fraulein Schneider, he is rendered incapable of acting on his feelings under the threat of surging Nazi anti-Semitism. He sings “Married” and “Pineapple Song.”
SALLY BOWLES: Alto. 30’s - 40’s. British Sally Bowles is the sexy featured singer of the Kit Kat Klub. Charmingly eccentric and wildly impulsive, she quickly becomes entangled with the American, Cliff, in an ill-fated romance. Must be able to move well. Her songs include “Cabaret,” “Maybe This Time” and “Don’t Tell Mama.”

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT

JEANNIE MULDOON: Alto. 20s. A sweet, sexy chorus girl from Brooklyn, Jeannie falls in love with Duke after learning of his royal lineage and title, the Duke of England. She remains true to him after learning of his false pedigree, realizing that true love has no price tag. She must be a strong dancer.
JIMMY WINTER: High Baritone. 30’s. Jimmy is a wealthy and handsome playboy about to be married for the third time. Charming, bumbling, and sweet, he unexpectedly falls for the disarming rumrunner, Billie Bendix, the night before his scheduled wedding to Eileen Evergreen. Great comic skills and strong movement are prerequisites for the role. His songs include “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” “S’Wonderful,” and “Will You Remember Me?”
BILLIE BENDIX: Mezzo with good mix. 20’s-30’s. Tough, clever, and streetwise, Billie partners in rum running with Cookie and Duke. Romance is the furthest thing from her mind until everything is turned on its ear in a chance encounter with Jimmy Winter. She sings “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “Treat Me Rough,” “But Not For Me,” and “Hanging Around With You.”
DUKE MAHONEY: Baritone. 30’s-40’s. Duke is Cookie’s sidekick and not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Intimidated by women, he assumes the false identity of the Duke of England to win the heart of Jeannie Muldoon. His inherent sweetness and sincerity win the day. He sings “Blah Blah Blah.”
COOKIE MCGEE: High Baritone. 30’s-40’s. Cookie is a fast-talking, wisecracking bootlegger. After being mistaken for Jimmy’s butler, Cookie must keep up the charade in order to finish the rum-running job he and his gang are working out of Jimmy’s Long Island summer home. The actor who plays Cookie must understand old-fashioned vaudeville-style comedy a la Abbott and Costello.
CHIEF BERRY: Baritone. 40s-50’s. Head of the Long Island Police Department, Chief Berry is fiercely dedicated to his job. Stubborn and persistent, he is determined to apprehend the bootleggers he’s convinced are hiding under his nose.
SENATOR MAX EVERGREEN: 50s-60s. Max Evergreen is a stuffy and judgmental Senator, and father to Eileen, Jimmy’s fiancé. Stern and distinguished, his stoic veneer masks the escapades of his youth. This is a non-singing role.
DUCHESS ESTONIA DULWORTH: Legit soprano with alto belt. 40s-50s. Duchess Dulworth is a bejeweled, upper-class dowager and a fervent prohibitionist. She travels with her own vice squad, eradicating “demon rum” wherever she goes. After Cookie spikes her drink, she rethinks her teetotaler ways and embraces her wilder side. She sings “By Strauss.”
EILEEN EVERGREEN: Soprano. 20’s-30’s. Lovely Eileen is the self-proclaimed “finest interpreter of modern dance in the world.” She is spoiled, self-involved, and engaged to Jimmy Winter. She must move very well and sings “Delicious” and “I’ve Got A Crush On You.”
MILLICENT WINTER: 50’s-60s. Millicent Winter is Jimmy’s formidable mother. She is unbelievably rich and carries no pretenses. Longing for her son to marry a woman of substance (For once), she eventually takes matters into her own hands and reveals that she is the notorious bootlegger, “Black Beard.” This is a non-singing role.

HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME
1st reh: 8/8/16. Runs: 8/23 – 8/28
Seeking
QUASIMODO: Tenor. 20’s. Quasimodo is the pure-hearted Hunchback of Notre Dame. The bastard son of Frollo’s brother and a gypsy woman, he is hideously deformed and partially deaf. Raised and sequestered by Frollo, he is torn between loyalty to his master and his longing to partake in the world beyond the bell tower. This physically demanding role will be played by a strong singer/actor.
DOM CLAUDE FROLLO: Bass. 50’s. Dom Claude Frollo is the Archdeacon of the Cathedral of Notre Dame and, following his brother’s death, Quasimodo’s custodian. Severe and deeply pious, Frollo believes his often cruel actions to be righteous and correct. His desire for Esmeralda is at odds with his vow of chastity, and eventually drives him to madness.
ESMERELDA: Alto. 20-30’s. Esmerelda is a beautiful and exotic Gypsy street dancer. Free-spirited and headstrong, she defies Dom Frollo and, subsequently, endangers her life. Her inner- and outer-beauty endear her to both Quasimodo and Phoebus, and earn both men’s protection and devotion.
CAPTAIN PHOEBUS DE MARTIN: High Baritone. 30’s. Phoebus is the dashing and good-hearted Captain of the Cathedral Guard. His love for Esmerelda puts him at odds with Dom Frollo, and causes a rift between his call to duty and what he knows to be right.
CLOPIN TROUILLEFOU: High Baritone. 30’s – 40’s. Clopin is King of the Gypsies. He is charming, mischievous, and has a flair for the dramatic. He serves as a protector of the estranged Gypsies and warns Esmerelda to not draw undesired attention.
