BREAKDOWN

RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA

SYNOPSIS: The wondrous musical from Rodgers and Hammerstein proves that dreams do come true – if only we dare to wish – with the beloved songs “In My Own Little Corner,” “The Prince is Giving a Ball,” and “Impossible/It’s Possible.” Based on the 1957 television film starring Julie Andrews, this enchanted production of the enduring fairytale updates the classic story for modern audiences while retaining the original charm and magic, and features additional music from the celebrated 1997 version starring Brandy and Whitney Houston.

Note: ALL actors coming in for this project may be considered for an understudy role. The team is looking to hire performers to cover the three roles listed below, plus the role of QUEEN CONSTANTINA.

SEEKING:

FAIRY GODMOTHER - Female-presenting, 30s to 50s, Soprano, A3-C5, any race or ethnicity. Warm with a spark of humor, wonder, and glamour. She lifts the magic in the story and highlights what is possible. NOTE: Actors of color are encouraged to audition.

STEPMOTHER - Female-presenting, 30s to 50s, A3-E5, Mezzo Soprano, any race or ethnicity. A vain and tyrannical climber. Deeply concerned with status and image and dismissive of her stepdaughter. NOTE: Comic timing essential. Looking for a light touch with the comedy to keep it buoyant and zany. Actors of color are encouraged to audition.

CHRISTOPHER - Male-presenting, 20s, C#3-E4, Tenor, any race or ethnicity. The charming young prince of the kingdom leads with heroic bravado but deeply naïve and not always quick on the draw. In search of his purpose. His kindhearted nature spills into an endearing goofiness at times. NOTE: Light comedic touch is essential. Actors of color are encouraged to audition.
