RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA
All characters are strong singers of all genders, ethnicities, ages and types. Casa Mañana encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities and/or expressions, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to attend every audition.
Cinderella - is a young lady with the kindest heart in the kingdom. She dreams of escaping her endless chores so she might one day see the world. Gender- Female, 20s – early 30s, Soprano.
Prince - Prince Charming. Needs a bit of guidance and inspiration to realize his full potential. Gender - Male, 20s – early 30s, Baritone.
King - The Prince’s father. A bit of a fuddy-duddy who loves his son and wife, and always has the best of intentions. Gender- Male, 40s – 60s, Baritone.
Fairy Godmother / Queen - Gender- Female, 40s – 60s, Mezzo-Soprano. Fairy Godmother - Fairy Godmother to Cinderella. Warm with a spark of wackiness, she lifts the magic in the show and highlights what is possible. Queen - The Prince’s lovely mother. Always wants the best for her son and does her best to keep her husband in line. At times serious, but always affectionate.
Joy - One of Cinderella’s stepsisters. A brash, bratty young woman, who never passes up the opportunity to be the center of attention. Not particularly bright. Gender – Female, 20s – early 30s, Mezzo-Soprano.
Portia - One of Cinderella’s stepsisters. An obnoxious, self-centered, goofy young woman with a fatuous laugh and, unfortunately, little signs of intelligence. Gender – Female, 20s – early 30s, Mezzo Soprano.
Stepmother - Ella’s evil stepmother, a vain and tyrannical woman only concerned with her wealth and her daughters’ happiness. She does not consider Ella, her stepdaughter, a true daughter. Gender Female, Late 40s – 50s, Mezzo-Soprano.
