SEEKING
All female dancers should have a degree of innocence about them and look very young (characters are 18-25). We need experienced, classically trained dancers. Most of the audition will be on POINTE.
In addition, there is the principal role of ‘Meg’ who is a member of the Corps de Ballet. She should appear to be between 16 and 18 years old. The range is mezzo-soprano to G.
Seeking strong classical dancers. Not looking for tap dancers, jazz dancers, or “hoofers.”
PREPARATION
Please have pointe shoes and flat ballet shoes with you.
All dancers, please be dressed, warmed up and ready to dance at the hour the audition begins. If asked to stay and sing, choose music from the musical theatre repertoire that best shows off your voice and range. Bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. There is no solo singing for the dancers (except ‘Meg’), but they will have to carry some vocal responsibility in the ensemble numbers.
Please bring a picture and resume, STAPLED TOGETHER.
