SEEKING:
NUKAIN MABUSA
Male, 50s-70s. South African, black. Painter of the rocks on a hillside at Revolver Creek. A natural innocent who has never lost a child's capacity for looking at the world with wonder, but troubled.
YOUNG BOKKIE
Male, to play 13. South African, black. Bright, intelligent. Nukain's side-kick and helper.
ELMARIE KLEYNHAUS
Female, 40s. South African, white, an Afrikaner. A mature, strong woman, physically and mentally. Devout and believes Afrikaners are God's chosen. The wife of the farmer who owns the land the painted rocks are on. Also to play Elmarie twenty years later – still strong, but bitter, frightened, and her religious views are challenged.
BOKKIE
Male, 30s. South African, black. Now a teacher and a proud, but not boastful, citizen of the new South Africa. The tolerance and forgiveness of Nelson Mandela inspires him.
