All rehearsals and performances are in Norwalk, CT - one hour on Metro North from Grand Central station. NYC actors commute daily and travel is paid by the theatre.

35-50, big Broadway, belt, the ultimate stage mother of Louise and June, strong, domineering, a force of nature
Herbie
40-50, baritone, agent for family, heart of gold; doubles as Uncle Jocko, a middle-aged children’s show host
Dainty June
16-24, plays June as a teenager, strong belt, a little brassy but all heart underneath
Louise/Gypsy
Strong singer/actor/dancer, young leading lady, 18-35, soprano with strong belt, plays Louise as a teenager who grows up to be Gypsy Rose Lee, needs to be comfortable with stripping as a character
Tulsa
17-20, high baritone/tenor, dancer in June’s act, boy next door type, extremely strong dancer, tap a plus, sincere, charming
Yonkers
17-20, baritone, also a dancer in June’s act, strong singer/dancer; doubles as Pastey, an “over-it” jaded stagehand
Pop
60+, Mama Rose’s father, crotchety, opinionated; doubles as Kringelin, the put upon manager of a hotel; and Cigar, a slimy aggressive owner of a burlesque house. Non-singing.

Agnes and Marjorie May
20’s, strong character actresses and excellent singer/dancers who act as both the backup dancers for Louise/Gypsy Rose Lee and also perform in large burlesque numbers in the second act. Strong comic skills required.
