Seeking:
RALPH KRAMDEN
Male, Caucasian, late 30s-late 40s. Heavy set, blusterous, a dreamer. A schemer. (Reference YouTube clips of the television show- “The $99,000 Answer” and “The Golfer” are two of the best). Has a heart of gold beneath of all of his antics and shortfalls. Actors auditioning should find a balance between their own characterization and the characters we know from the series. It shouldn’t be an impression of Jackie Gleason. Must sing very well, move well and have great comedic timing.
ALICE KRAMDEN
Female, Caucasian, mid-30s-late 40s. Caustic, sarcastic with an under-layer of warmth. (Reference YouTube clips of the television show). Loves her husband without reservation, but has no problem giving him grief. Must be able to deliver one-line zingers very well. Must sing well (should have a mezzo belt) and have great comic timing.
ED NORTON
Male, Caucasian, mid 30s-late 40s. Tall, lanky, comedic, a little dumb, blue collar, physical. (Reference YouTube clips- “The $99,000 Answer” and “The Golfer” are two of the best). Actors auditioning should find a balance between their own characterization and the characters we know from the series. It shouldn’t be an impression of Art Carney. Must sing very well (should have a Baritone or Bari-tenor voice) and have great comedic timing. Should have a very strong sense of physical comedy.
TRIXIE NORTON
Female, Caucasian, mid 30s-mid 40s. Not like Trixie in the series. Sexy and beautiful… like Adelaide in “Guys and Dolls”… a little ditzy, background as a singer, takes job singing at El Morocco. On cusp of losing her sexy appeal. Must sing well and have great comedic timing.
BRYCE BENNETT
Male, any ethnicity, mid 30s-mid 40s. Our bad guy. Sneaky. A shark in an Ad Agency. Leading Man type (a la Jon Hamm in Mad Men). Must be very funny. Even though he’s harassed and panicked by Upshaw in their first scene together, he’s a shark that’s being out-sharked. Manipulative and always three steps ahead. Must sing well in (Should have a Baritone/Bari-tenor voice) and have great comedic timing.
OLD MAN FACCIAMATTA
Male, any ethnicity, 70s-80s. Must be able to do an Italian accent. Seemingly nice, but can be terrifying if he’s crossed. Ideally can move fairly well. Should have excellent comedic timing and a strong baritone singing voice.
UPSHAW
Male, any ethnicity, 50-60. Hard as nails and sarcastic, yet funny. The boss at the ad agency who speaks in a rapid staccato manner. Enjoys comedic riding of employees. Must have great comic timing.
