BREAKDOWN
SYNOPSIS: In the days before one of the most controversial fights in boxing history, 23-year-old heavyweight champ Muhammad Ali formed an improbable bond with disgraced former Hollywood star Stepin Fetchit. Set in the heady times of the mid-1960s, after years of struggle and a series of Civil Rights victories.
SEEKING:
[MUHAMMAD ALI aka CASSIUS CLAY] Male, African American, mid 20s to mid 30s, a young heavyweight champ. A tall, handsome man with an athletic build. A breakout star on the rise with a chip on his shoulder. Believes God has bestowed him with divine skill. Confident in his abilities. Impressionable and eager, brash and arrogant.
[SONJI CLAY] Female, African American, mid 20s to mid 30s, married to Muhammad Ali. A former wild party girl who is now trying to be a good Muslim wife. Intelligent, loving and tough, but perhaps not tough enough.
[STEPIN FETCHIT] Male, African American, 50 – 60, Lincoln Perry aka Stepin Fetchit – the stage name of the American film persona. He was a comedian and film actor during the 1920s into the 1930s and even into the 1970s. He was best known for his character ''Stepin Fetchit'' who was ''the laziest man in the world''. Lincoln Perry was a man who has been at the top and blown it all, holding on but maintaining his own sense of dignity. Looking for actors who look like Lincoln Perry.
