DOROTHY GALE (Female Identifying, 18-24, Any Ethnicity, Mezzo-Soprano) Actor to play 14-17. A farm girl and a dreamer. She is naïve but knows how to stand up for herself and her friends. A great mover/dancer with a deep emotional well and a contagious, joyous spirit. NOTE: Must love and work well with dogs.
AUNT EM (Female Identifying, 40s, Any Ethnicity) Honest and hardworking. She cares deeply for her family.
UNCLE HENRY (Male Identifying, 40s-50s, Any Ethnicity, Bari-tenor) A farm owner who is honest, hardworking, and acerbic, but kind. He cares deeply for his family. Doubles as The Guard. He is daffy, quirky, and charming. Has great comedic timing.
PROFESSOR MARVEL (Male Identifying, 40s-50s, Any Ethnicity) A rogue with a big heart. Skilled comedian. Doubles as The Wizard of Oz a heartfelt buffoon- comedic and charming. NOTE: Must be comfortable working with dogs.
LION (Male Identifying, 30s-40s, Any ethnicity, Bari-Tenor) He seems jumpy, jittery, and blubbering but is actually quite brave deep down. Comic with bravado and charm. Doubles as Zeke a farmhand. NOTE: Must be comfortable working with dogs.
SCARECROW (Male Identifying, 30s, Any Ethnicity, Bari-Tenor) Excellent Singer Dancer with a heart of gold and comic wit. Floppy and insecure but is actually quite clever deep down. Doubles as Hunk a farmhand. NOTE: Must be comfortable working with dogs.
TIN MAN (Male Identifying, 30s, any Ethnicity, Tenor) Sweet and romantic, a lovely crooner and fantastic mover or dancer. Doubles as Hickory a farmhand. NOTE: Must be comfortable working with dogs.
WICKED WITCH (Female Identifying, 30s-40s, Any Ethnicity) Sinister, power hungry and cruel. She is hiding a bounty of grief. Doubles as Miss Gulch a shallow and stubborn woman. Has great language skills and an acerbic wit. NOTE: Must love and work well with dogs and will also need to be comfortable with harness flying.
NIKKO (Any Gender, 20s-30s, Any Ethnicity) Head of the Witches monkeys. Active dancer, creative and agile, quick with a sharp edge and obedience to the Witch. NOTE: Actor will need to be comfortable with harness flying.
