Seeking:
LUCY
Mid-late 20. In the early part of the play Lucy is suffering a mysterious physical malady that drains all of her strength; she is also suffering the loss of her best friend and the sudden disappearance of her fiancé, Jonathan. She bravely struggles to have a good face and be strong. As she falls deeper into Dracula’s grip she becomes fierce and uninhibited as an overwhelming hunger takes hold of her. Actress must show a very broad range of emotional and physical skills. British accent
DRACULA
Late 30-late 40. Appears as a somewhat awkward but charming old-world Continental, intense, takes over the room, what we see is not the monster that lies beneath and who brutally ravishes those who fall into his lair. He is reserved, even withheld but has sudden outbursts of wild eccentric behavior. Actor must have a very wide physical and emotional range, highly imaginative and inventive, Eastern European accent.
Dr. Seward
Early to mid-30. A serious and intelligent young doctor running an asylum in the English countryside where everything has suddenly gone mad; his fiancé has died of an inexplicable illness, his dear friend Lucy is now suffering the same symptoms, inmates are acting oddly and he is working very hard to maintain control as his terror mounts.British accent
