SEEKING

Chorus Dancers and Singers for our 2016

Developmental Production of Cubamor.

Principal & Chorus Actor/Singer/Dancers for our

2017 production of Dreamgirls.

PREPARATION

Please be prepared with one of the following: 1.

Two song selections no longer than one chorus

and one verse in the style of the shows - stay

away from your typical musical theatre style,

pop/rock/disco would be best. OR 2. One song

selection in style mentioned above and one

short monologue.

Cubamor: First Rehearsal - November 14th,

2016, First Preview - December 2nd, 2016,

Opening - December 9th, 2016, Closing -

December 18th, 2016. Dreamgirls: First

Rehearsal - April 11th, 2017, First Preview -

May 10th, 2017, Opening - May 11th, 2017,

Closing - July 30th, 2017.


An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The

producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Performers of all ethnic and racial

backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Always bring your Equity Membership card to

auditions.

BREAKDOWN

Village Theatre is seeking actors, singers and dancers of color for their upcoming productions of

Cubamor & Dreamgirls. All levels of experience are strongly encouraged to attend. If you attended our

EPA or ECC held in March you are not required to attend this call as well for consideration.

CUBAMOR: Cubarmor takes place in Cuba and the cast is comprised of Afro-Cuban and Latin-Cuban

actors.


Elegua: Late 40's-50's. Possibly Older. The Afro-Cuban Orisha who is the traditional keeper of the

crossroads. Both trickster and guide, he our everyman in Cuba. Is embodied by Tata - Grandfather.

Tenor. Skills as a percussionist a plus.


Ensemble: 2 Men/2 Women - Afro-Cuban or Latin-Cuban, Dancers who sing, all voice types welcome,

all physical types encouraged and welcome to attend.
