African-American men; early 20’s (actor plays two characters):
- Jason – college student; smart, funny, charming, confident; likable; knowing; empathic;
- R.J. - street smart hustler in urban environment in 1964; sleeps with men (among other things) to earn money; dangerous charm; commanding - he owns any room he is in.

Julie
Caucasian woman; first year student in a prestigious north American university in 2015; clueless but charming; all good intentions; open and guileless; no filter from brain to mouth

Michael
Caucasian man; Freshman in college in 1964; uses humor to deflect; prep school graduate; easy charm; privileged, must exude wealthy pedigree.

Tanya
African-American woman; first year student in a prestigious north American university in 2015; upper-economic status; smart; principled; confident; conflicted regarding her racial identity; struggling to be a good and loyal friend
