Preparation
Each has a maximum of 3 minutes to audition. Bring your AEA membership card.

Prepare material of choice (including, if you wish, selections from the season). For those who wish to perform a scene from the season, a reader will be available. Be prepared to state your starting & stopping places.

· A monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Breakdown

No understudies are being cast. All available roles are available for any and all actors, regardless of race, heritage, or gender identification. We seek actors who are able to and enjoy playing multiple roles in a production, who are physically engaged in the work and with other ensemble members. Each production schedule includes at least 5 weekday morning student matinees, which actors must be available for. Please note that ASP does not supply housing. Actors must have Boston area housing in order to work with ASP. We look forward to seeing you!

Ophelia- young woman beloved by Hamlet, Prince of Denmark

Horatio- Hamlet’s best friend and confidant

Laertes- brother to Ophelia, a young nobleman

Player Queen-a performer who comes to perform at the castle

Player king-a performer who comes to perform at the castle

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern- two bumbling courtiers

Miranda: young daughter of Prospero, naïve to the world

Caliban: Prospero’s servant, believes the island to be rightfully his

Trinculo: court jester of the court of Naples

Antonio: Prospero’s power-hungry brother, father of Ferdinand

Peter Quince- a local workman and theatrical producer

Oberon-King of the Fairies (also plays Theseus, Duke of Athens)

Puck-Oberon’s Fairy servant

Snug- a local workman and tentative actor in a play before the Duke
