BREAKDOWN

About Alice is based on Calvin Trillin’s memoir of his late wife, Alice. This is a two character play. The play is presentational and therefore has no fourth wall. The actors, especially CT, must be very comfortable communicating directly and creating a relationship with the audience – the other main character in the piece.

The role of AT is cast (Jessica Hecht).

We are seeking:

CT:
In the play the character goes from late 20s to 60s.
He is a journalist, humorist, food writer, poet, memoirist and novelist. He describes himself in the play as ‘wry’. (There is a bit of a stand up in CT.) He sees the world through his own very special ‘wry’ lens and always in the center of that lens is Alice and his enduring love for her.
