Breakdown
About this play: It takes place 10 years after the Salem witch trials. The play is an imagined sequel to THE CRUCIBLE.
SEEKING:
YOUNG WOMAN] Female, late 20s. Seeking strong actress for this role, which is the lead of the show. Emotionally connected, strong, focused, seeking redemption. This is Abigail, who accused so many of witchcraft in Salem.
YOUNG MAN] Male, late 20s. A seaman. Handsome. He arrives scruffy, unshaven lean and sickly, and eventually is well and fit. A man with his own secrets.
OLDER MAN] Male, 40s – 60. Sophisticated with commanding presence. He will play a variety of roles: Rev. Parris, Judge Sewall, Man in Gray (who is a very different take on the devil).
OLDER WOMAN] Female, 40s – 50s. Strong actress with range: she will play several roles that range from salt-of-the-earth strong women to character roles (Margaret Hale, Ann Foster (aka the Crone), and Elizabeth Proctor).
BOY] Male, to play 10 years old. Good actor who sings. Plays role of Thomas, an inquisitive sweet boy. NON-EQUITY role.
