Creative Nations will host its inaugural First Storyteller’s Festival, featuring a diverse lineup of Indigenous plays and musicals from October 1st to October 6th at The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, CO. One highlight is New Year's Purun by Justin P. Lopez, which follows 16-year-old Taiel's struggle to master a traditional Purun dance and fulfill his duties as a tribal healer amidst challenges from homophobic bullies. The festival will also present works like The Counting of the Heads by Steve Callahan and Savage: The Unconquerable Wanda Savage, showcasing powerful narratives and the voices of Native storytellers. Additionally, there will be discussions and workshops aimed at fostering community engagement and support for emerging Indigenous artists.
