Contender started in early 2011 by 5 guys looking to do something different with Hardcore Music. With influences ranging from "Set Your Goals" to "The Black Dahlia Murder" Contender is open to a wide variation of sounds. All 5 members of "Contender" come from different backgrounds in the music scene. Some Influences however that all the members can agree inspires what we are today would be "The Ghost Inside", "Misery Signals", "Comeback Kid", "For The Fallen Dreams", "Bury Your Dead", and "August Burns Red". Contender has played with such bands as "Mureau", Kingdom of Giants", "Bermuda", " I Declare War", "Into The Flood", "Monsters Scare You".
