Today, Low Cut Connie release their fourth studio album Dirty Pictures (Part 1) available worldwide via Contender Records. The album was recorded on analog tape at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN and is available for purchase and streaming via iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon.
This morning, Rolling Stone raved "The weight of the world is really with them on album four, and it's helped add depth and power to their music...Their mix of Seventies Stones (but dirtier), the New York Dolls (but tighter) and Jerry Lee Lewis (but Westerberg-ier) comes with an extra sense of bare-knuckled grit and sonic thwump to fight against the darkness." Rolling Stone's David Fricke also named the band one of his favorites of 2017 and called them "...a roaring quintet that sounds as loud and full as the early E Street Band, are absolutely contemporary in their drive to old-school joy."
Album single "Revolution Rock n Roll" is currently in the top 75 on the FMQB non-commercial radio chart. Watch the video HERE.
Low Cut Connie is Adam Weiner (piano, lead vocals) who also produced the album, James Everhart (lead guitar), Will Donnelly (rhythm guitar), Larry Scotton (drums), and Lucas Rinz (bass). With raunchy instrumental work from all the Connie boys pushing the envelope, the material on Dirty Pictures (Part 1) delights and wallows in the seedy life of America in 2017. "Revolution Rock n Roll" calls to arms our perverse and noble youthful instincts while "Death & Destruction" simply sums up our dirty American life under the Trump administration by proclaiming "Everybody's acting like an asshole." The album also features a bracing cover of Prince's "Controversy." Speaking of the recent passing of his hero Prince Rogers Nelson, Weiner said "It will take time for us to understand what we have lost."
A rolling DIY caravan who have for the past 5 years schlepped a 400 pound piano named Shondra around the country, LCC have been bubbling under the surface of the music industry while building an obsessive fanbase from all walks of life. Their most famous fan, former President Barack Obama, chose their anthem of low-brow American life "Boozophilia" for his Spotify Playlist and met with Weiner at the White House in 2016. They're known for their explosive live shows which New York Times described as "a phenomenon."
