Branchez & Big Wet Share 'Turn Up The Weekend' Video

As we approach mid-July, Branchez and Big Wet are releasing a late contender for this year's song of the summer in the form of their new single "Turn Up On the Weekend." Released today across all digital retailers and in the form of a Matt Sukkar-directed music video, "Turn Up On the Weekend" combines modern country vocals, left-of-center pop production and the attitude of rap to make an earworm of a party anthem.

Sukkar, known for his past video work for Azealia Banks and Elle King in addition to his own popular Vine account, captures the song's rambunctious spirit and feel good vibe. Speaking about the video's inspiration, Sukkar says, "The song combines country music and a trap beat, so I wanted to create a video that references traditional country themes with the addition of more progressive elements. I went to Florida a week before production to explore, and met some bull riders and we went from there."
