With special appearances scheduled for tonight in New York City and Saturdayhere in Asbury Park, the Jake Clemons Band is officially on the Birthday Beat as a participant in LIGHT OF DAY WINTERFEST 2017: The Beat Goes On, as the 17th anniversary kicks into high gear this week in the global battle to defeat Parkinson's Disease and related illnesses through the awesome power of music.

Already committed to a special guest performance at the birthday celebration for his late uncle, Clarence Clemons, tonight at the Cutting Room in New York, the multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and his band have added Bob's Birthday Bash, three days later (Jan. 14) at the sold-out Paramount Theater in Asbury Park, to their Light of Day Winterfest itinerary. Limited tickets remain for tonight's show at the Cutting Room. Doors open 6 p.m. Show is6:45 p.m.. Tickets $40-$75 at www.thecuttingroomnyc.com.

As Clemons told Billboard this week: "Considering how Clarence always loved performing on his birthday, and my aunt (his sister) recently passed away with ALS, I think this is exactly how he'd be celebrating his 75th, and I'm thrilled to be paying tribute to his incredible legacy while also honoring the loss in my family with this show."

On both days, that Clemons appears, Light of Day Winterfest will be hosting exclusive sneak previews of the upcoming Clarence Clemons documentary, Who Do You Think I Am, with never before seen clips. The first will be held tonight in New York as part of the Big Man's birthday celebration at the Cutting Room. The other, in conjunction with the Asbury Park Music & Film Festival, will be held Saturday morning in Asbury Park at McLoone's Supper Club and will be followed by a Q&A with producer Joe Amodei and director Nick Mead, hosted by SiriusXM E Street Radio personality Jim Rotolo. For the Asbury screening, doors are at 9:30am; show is 10:30am. All seats are $10 with tickets and further info atwww.timmcloonessupperclub.com or by calling (732) 774-1155. The Asbury Park Music & Film Festival will be held April 20-23 in Asbury Park.

Between the two birthday events, Clemons, who's been splitting his time since his uncle's passing by touring the world as a solo artist and performing on tenor and baritone saxophone for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, will see the release of his highly anticipated new album Fear & Love.

Also confirmed to perform as Main Stage artists at Bob's Birthday Bash are Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, Willie Nile & Band, Jesse Malin & Band, Joe D'Urso & Stone Caravan, James Maddock & Band, Remember Jones, Bobby Bandiera, and Battery Electric. Those acts will be interspersed with acoustic performances by Jeffrey Gaines, Chuck Prophet, Ed Manion, Porter & Sayles, Emily Grove, Peter Elkas & Terry Lightfoot, Miss Emily, and Rob Dye, with entrance music by The Fireplaces. All are subject to change.

Bob's Birthday Bash, always held the final Saturday night of the 10-day festival, sold out in record time this year - less than a half hour. Springsteen has made surprise performances at Bob's Birthday Bash for 11 of the past 16 years. The Birthday Bash honors Bob Benjamin, the artist manager and music industry veteran who has been living with Parkinson's since 1996, two years before he co-founded Light of Day with Executive Director Tony Pallagrosi, whose mother, Dolores, died in 2002 from the effects of PSP.

In his new autobiography, Born to Run, which recently topped the New York Times Best Sellers List as well as in several countries worldwide, Springsteen revealed that his father suffered from Parkinson's Disease.

Last year's Winterfest raised $525,000 - a record amount - to combat Parkinson's disease, topping the previous year record of $500,000, with the 16-year total approaching $4 million.

In 2015, Billboard Magazine presented the Humanitarian Award to Bob Benjamin and the Light of Day Foundation at the Billboard Talent & Touring Conference & Awards "for their 15 years of bringing awareness and support for Parkinson's disease through live music events." Benjamin, an artist manager and music industry veteran, has been living with Parkinson's since 1996, two years before he co-founded Light of Day with Executive Director Tony Pallagrosi, whose mother, Dolores, died in 2002 from the effects of PSP.
