BIO:
Jesse Terry is a nationally touring, award-winning singer-songwriter and road warrior. His music has been compared to the likes of Ryan Adams, Jackson Browne, Paul Simon and James Taylor. Jesse has toured relentlessly in support of his two full-length albums, including recent support slots for Darrell Scott (member of Robert Plant’s Band of Joy), Tony Lucca, Liz Longley and Rachel Platten. He has shared festival stages with the likes of Mat Kearney, Shawn Mullins, Dar Williams, David Wilcox and Lori McKenna.
Terry released his second album Empty Seat On A Plane on July 10th of 2012 and was immediately featured on iTunes “New and Noteworthy” and “Discover This” pages. Songs off the new record have already been featured on the CW’s “Hart of Dixie” and PBS’s “Roadtrip Nation.” The new LP was recorded in Nashville with acclaimed producer/engineer Neilson Hubbard (Kim Richey, Glen Phillips, Amy Speace, Matthew Perryman Jones).
Jesse has won Grand Prize in several international songwriting competitions, including the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, the CMT/NSAI Songwriting Competition, the Ourstage.com 2012 Finals and the We Are Listening Singer/Songwriter awards. The esteemed “New Music Seminar” recently selected Terry as one of the Top 100 Unsigned “Artists on the Verge”. He showcased in June of 2012 in New York City during the New Music Seminar as part of the OurStage.com showcase. Jesse’s song “Let The Blue Skies Go To Your Head” was included on a recent NMS compilation, released worldwide on June 19th by Tommy Boy Records.
Jesse is a regular at some of the finest listening venues in the country, including The Bluebird Cafe (Nashville), Club Passim (Cambridge, MA), Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), Eddie's Attic (GA) and The Bitter End (NYC). He has performed in Bluebird Cafe rounds with Tony Arata, Craig Carothers, Steve Seskin, Billy Montana and many other songwriting luminaries. Jesse has also been a featured performer at many prestigious festivals, including The 30A Songwriters Festival, The Plymouth Folk Festival, Cape May Singer/Songwriter, The New Jersey Folk Festival and The Montauk Music Festival. In 2011, Terry and his full band had the honor of performing for the US and NATO troops stationed at Thule Air Base in Greenland.?
