Easter 2015 will be a special holiday at The Peninsula New York, as the hotel embarks on a multi-day commemoration starting on April 1 with the debut of an Afternoon Tea in The Peninsula's chic Gotham Lounge. Gotham Lounge's Easter Afternoon Tea will present an intriguing selection of savory treats the likes of Foie Gras Mousse with griotine on an ash profiterole and Apple Gelee with crab salad, followed by a luscious assortment of house made pastries and tartlets. All complemented by a large collection of teas from which to choose. Gotham Lounge's popular children's tea will also be served. Join them from April 1st through April 5th from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm for this lovely event. The cost of the tea is $60 per person.
Children will the focus on Saturday afternoon, April 4, when The Peninsula's culinary team hosts the hotel's annual Easter Egg Decorating Class. Each pint-sized aspiring artist will decorate a seven-inch tall chocolate egg with the assistance of the hotel's experienced confectionary creators. The event will be further enhanced with a child-friendly tea service including hot cocoa, finger sandwiches, cookies and a candy station, along with a personal appearance by the Easter Bunny, who will hop in to help the to help the children with their activities. While the children are occupied with their Easter egg masterpieces, their accompanying adults will enjoy an afternoon tea buffet of tea sandwiches, pastries and scones accompanied by a selection of teas. The Easter Egg Decorating Class will be on Saturday, April 4th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Gramercy Room. It is open to all ages and the cost is $95 per child or adult.
On Easter Sunday there will be an egg-stravagant buffet brunch at Clement restaurant offering more than 50 tempting dishes and made more egg-citing with an Easter egg hunt in the hotel's lobby. Easter Sunday Buffet Brunch will take place on April 5 in Clement restaurant, with a menu that includes: a raw bar of Oysters, Nantucket Scallops, Crab Legs and claws, and Caviar; 16 cold and hot appetizers ranging from Smoked Salmon, specialty cheeses and Charcuterie to Eggs Benedict and steel-cut Oatmeal; bread and pastry baskets; four entrée choices such as Baked Lobster. There will also be pasta and cheese; Braised Lamb Shank; Prime Rib carving station; eggs-your-way station; vegetable sides; and a dessert display of some 21 cakes, tarts, verrines, chocolates and petite fours. From 1:00 pm to 1:30 p.m. the Easter Bunny will lead a festive Easter egg hunt through the hotel's two floors of lobby area for children of all ages. Seatings for Easter Brunch will be at 11:30 am and 2:00 pm. The cost is $165 for adults and $75 for children 12 and under.
