New York's Culinary Masters dish in Service of The Doe Fund, known as the 'Men in Blue' at the Bowery Hotel located at 335 Bowery, between Second and Third Streets.

Best known for its award-winning program Ready, Willing & Able, The Doe Fund will host its Third Annual "sweet: New York" tasting event on Thursday, March 13th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Bowery Hotel. The event will celebrate the culinary industry's role in providing opportunity for homeless New Yorkers. Proceeds will go to The Doe Fund's Ready, Willing & Able program which assists 1,000 individuals per day to better their circumstances through paid work, educational tools, and career development.

Students from The Doe Fund's own culinary employment training program will trade blue buckets for chef's whites as they work alongside chefs from some of the city's top restaurants to prepare savory and sweet delicacies for attendees to sample. Participating restaurants include such New York mainstays as Telepan, Tao, Lavo, Capital Grille, BLT Prime, Magnolia Bakery, Pescatore, Cascabel, Dinosaur BBQ, Payard Pattiserie, Terri Organic, Casa Nonna, West 3rd Common, Lady M Confections, Hernan, Greenwich Project, Felice 83, Loi, Fatty Cakes, BurgerFi and Commerce. Cocktail sponsors include Kopali Wines, Manon, Union Beer, Spud Vodka, Flora Springs, and NY Distilling Company.

Last year, more than 400 of New York's top names nibbled, tippled and chatted the night away in support of The Doe Fund's 'men in blue' and the power of second chances. Celebrity attendees included DJ Chelsea Leyland, Jessica White, Carrie Preston, Steve and Wendy Madden, Taryn Manning, and Chef Madison Cowan.

About The Doe Fund

Headquartered in New York City, The Doe Fund is a large-scale human service non-profit that assists 1,000 people every day to better their circumstances through programs providing paid work, workforce development, job placement. They also provide transitional, supportive, and permanent housing, drug testing and counseling, and comprehensive social and educational services.

All once homeless or incarcerated, the "men in blue" of the organization's flagship program, "Ready, Willing & Able," can be seen cleaning 150 miles of New York City streets every day, rain or shine. This paid transitional work is the first step they take toward self-sufficiency, and they complete Ready, Willing & Able with full-time, permanent employment, apartments of their own, and their sobriety.
