Broadwayworld.com recently had the pleasure of attending a special event at Saxon + Parole on 316 Bowery in NYC where we enjoyed learning about Slane Irish Whiskey and sampled cocktails made with the fine spirit. The Conyngham family of Slane, Ireland was there to greet guests and speak about their mission of sustainable agriculture and the production of their whiskey. The family included Co-Founder, Alex Conyngham and his wife, Carina Conyngham who is the Founder of eco-tourism destination Rock Farm Slane. They were joined by Alex's brother, Wolfe Conyngham, an acclaimed private chef.
Slane Irish Whiskey is a bold, new take on Ireland's legendary spirit. It was created by Brown-Forman working with the Conyngham family, which has three centuries of ties the village of Slane. For more than 145 years, Brown-Forman has enriched the experience of life by responsibly building fine quality beverage alcohol brands including Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, Woodford Reserve, Korbel and Tequila Herradura. Slane Irish Whiskey marries traditional Irish craftsmanship with innovations like its signature Triple Casked maturation process. Using virgin, seasoned and sherry casks, the resulting spirit is bold, yet smooth and more robust and complex than a traditional blended Irish whiskey. Its striking black bottle calls out its distinctive flavor and unconventional approach that embodies the pride of Slane.
