Pounds & Ounces NYC Pub at 160 8th Avenue on the corner of 18th Street is now open for lunch Monday through Friday, from noon to 3 p.m. The debut of Pounds & Ounces new lunch, with a thoughtfully devised contemporary American menu devised by Executive Chef Margaret LaVetty is geared to midday dining appetites. The launch of afternoon meals coincides with the arrival of warmer weather and the opening of the restaurant's expansive 40-seat outdoor café.
And for just $5, they are offering their special lunch burger, a classic an 8 oz. house blend beef patty with lettuce, tomato, ketchup, American cheese and pickle chips on a brioche bun.
The new menu also boasts such small plates standouts like their Caesar Salad Cones, Crispy Calamari Salad, and Market Vegetable Flatbread. Either on a salad or wrap, there are items that include Asian Chicken and Wasabi Ahi Tuna.
Among the pub plates, early best sellers are Bacon Cheddar Brat and Moroccan Meatball Sliders, Summer Pasta and Beer Battered Fish & Chips.
Desserts range from Chef LaVetty's signature Lavender Sandwiches teasing Triple Chocolate Pretzel parfait to a selection of ice creams and sorbets.
