In honor of the 500th anniversary of Reinheitsgebot, Treadwell Park, the hottest craft beer hall destination in New York City, invites customers to join Brewmaster Udo Schiedermair on his U.S. tour and taste the rare Radeberger Zwickel Pilsner on Saturday, April 23rd. Reinheitsgebot, better known as the German Beer Purity Law, originally stated that beer may only contain water, barley and hops, and for one night only New York and traveling beer geeks alike will unite to toast to 500 years.
The main event of the night starts when the clock strikes six o'clock, as Radeberger Brewmaster, Udo Schiedermair, will take the floor for the "Beat the Brewmaster" challenge. The Treadwell team dressed in special modern lederhosen attire will hand select a dozenlucky customers to go head to head with Udo in a beer stein hoisting competition. The winner who beats Udo will have the great honor of tapping the ceremonial keg, pouring the Radeberger Zwickel Bier and will receive a Radeberger one-liter mug signed by Udo himself.
The evening will also feature a tap takeover offering customers the chance to taste all the regional diversity of German beer showcased in Radeberger's portfolio. Taps will flow with everything from the ultra-rare Radeberger Zwickel Bier to other German favorites including Schofferhofer Hefeweizen, Braufactum Progusta, Braufactum Soleya and Scion Kolsch. As a bonus, customers will experience the perfect pour every time thanks to Treadwell Park's ultra-exclusive on-site flux capacitor, which controls the exact gas blend of nitrogen and carbon dioxide serving each beer at its scientifically engineered best. Beverage Curator and Certified Cicerone®, Mikey Fishbone will also be serving up a Schofferhofer Hefeweizen cocktail and a house-made German Radler with fresh grapefruit juice.
To complement the German inspired beer and cocktail selection, Treadwell Park offers customers their signature menu featuring selections including Bratwursts on a toasted pretzel dough roll smothered in sauerkraut with warm potato salad, Giant Soft Pretzels and Liptauer cheese, with Austrian pimento cheese dip, caraway seeds and smoked paprika and other tasty munchies to enjoy with a Zwickel Bier.
As a special treat, Treadwell Park and Radeberger will provide entertainment throughout the evening. Polka players will give the traditional classics a jazzy twist, and to top things off a Reinheitsgebot trivia contest will be held for customers to flex their beer - knowledge muscles. Beer drinkers can also check out Treadwell Park's game room complete with Ping-Pong tables and pinball machines.
