"Taste of the Nation" for No Kid Hungry, one of the longest-running culinary event series, announces dates for their 2019 season. This year's schedule features both returning and new markets to the 19-city line-up including Portland, ME; Philadelphia, PA; and Austin, TX, where the series is having its kick-off on February 7.
Taste of the Nation events feature a roster of celebrated chefs, mixologists and sommeliers serving up signature savory and sweet tastings and beverages while attendees enjoy a fun night for a cause. One-hundred-percent of proceeds benefit No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America.
"Taste of the Nation has raised over $100 million since 1988 - a testament to the generosity of both the culinary community and local supporters across the country," says Jessie Niewold, Director, Taste of the Nation. "By showcasing each city's unique local food scene, this series of distinct events unites under the common goal of ensuring every kid in the United States gets three nutritious meals a day."
Participating 2019 culinary professionals - including Joe Flamm in Chicago, Amanda Cohen in NYC, and Timon Balloo in Miami - will be announced by city. Past participants include Chefs Traci Des Jardins, Chris Cosentino, Stephanie Izard, JJ Johnson, Anita Lo, Mary Sue Milliken, Marc Murphy, Kwame Onwuachi, and Bryan Voltaggio.
