The 10th edition the of the Latke Festival will celebrate the delectable versatility of the potato pancake on Monday, Dec. 3 at the Brooklyn Museum. One of most deliciously fun and eagerly anticipated events on New York City's annual Holiday Season calendar, it will be presented by Great Performances, the highly acclaimed New York-based catering and events company, as a benefit for The Sylvia Center the nonprofit dedicated to teaching nutrition and cooking in underserved communities through hands-on experiences on the farm and in the kitchen. The evening will showcase 25-plus latke creations, from the classic to the decadently imaginative, by chefs from such establishments as: Baoburg; Benchmark; Dutch Boy Burger; FONDA; FryGuys; Kulushkat; Mama O's; The Norm; Riss's Knishes; Shelsky's of Brooklyn; Veselka; and White Tiger.

The latke loving attendees will vote for their favorite to determine "People's Choice" Best Latke, while a panel of influencers and food experts will determine the "Judges' Choice" Best Latke. New for 2018 is a Judges' Choice Most Creative and a Best Traditional prize. Latkes, the likes of Dizzy's Club Coca Cola's Taro & Leek, tangy braised short ribs and pomegranate reduction, Korso's Apple Raisin, dill crème fraiche and Lancaster County porcini mushrooms; and Jacob's Pickles' Sliced & Spiced Pastrami, spicy feta schmear will compete for the palates of the judges and guests.

The former will include: actress Debi Mazar and her celebrity chef husband Gabriele Corcos, hosts of the Food Channel's Extra Virgin; Dana Cowin, host of Heritage Radio's Speaking Broadly (formerly long-time editor of Food & Wine); Alexis Mayyasi, editor-in-chief of Gastro Obscura, David Berliner, president and COO of the Brooklyn Musuem and Howard Axel, CEO of Four Freedoms Park.

An array of specialty cocktails, wine, beer and other liquid refreshments will help fuel the latke loaded festivities, courtesy of such partners such as: Tito's Vodka; City Winery; GuS Grown- Up Soda; and Shmaltz Brewing.

The 10th Annual Latke Festival will light up the Holiday Season at the Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY on Monday, Dec. 3 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $75, including unlimited latkes and beverages. A $120 ticket grants exclusive access to the chic VIP Lounge, boasting open bar and a (non-latke laden!) buffet.
