"National Hot Chocolate Day" is January 31. This is the season to enjoy everybody's favorite winter drink. Thanks to Butcher & Banker, Haven Rooftop, and DiWine Restaurant & Wine Bar we have the recipes for three hot boozy hot chocolate drinks that you can make at home.

DiWine's Thirty-One Warmer

Ingredients:

-1.5 oz. bourbon

-0.5 oz. amaro

-1 dash orange bitters

-8 oz. hot cocoa (can use a prepared instant packet or a homemade recipe)

-Whipped Cream

-Orange zest

Method:

-Prepare the hot cocoa, add bourbon, amaro and the orange bitters and stir. Top with whipped cream and garnish with orange zest.

Haven Rooftop's Peppermint Cream Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

-1 ½ oz. Baileys

-1/2 oz. Cream de Cacao

-1/2 oz. Cream de menthe

-1/2 oz. Chocolate syrup

-2 oz. Milk

Method:

-Mix all ingredients and heat in glass with milk steamer. Garnish with whipped cream, sprinkles and a mint leaf. Cheers!

Butcher & Banker's SQC Hot Chocolate (serves 4)

Check out this recipe that is perfect for a group gathering by Chef Scott Campbell of Butcher and Banker.

Ingredients:

-1 quart - Whole Milk

-2 ounces - Valrhona Cocoa Powder

-1 ounces - Sugar

-3 ounces - Valrhona Chocolate, chunks

-1 tablespoon - Vanilla Extract (Butcher & Banker uses a housemade vanilla extract)

-4 ounces - Bourbon

Method:

-Pour milk and cocoa powder into a saucepot and bring to a simmer and add sugar.

-Reduce heat to very low and add chocolate, stirring occasionally until melted about 3-5 minutes.

-Strain hot chocolate through a chinois and finish with Vanilla extract.

-Add shot of bourbon before serving. Hot chocolate can be topped off with homemade marshmallows or whipped cream.
