Bar of the Week: SALL RESTAURANT & LOUNGE in the Hells Kitchen Neighborhood

If you're looking for top-notch food and drink in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, we've found just the place for you. Sall Restaurant & Lounge is a new spot just a few minutes walk from Columbus Circle and the theatre district. It's a great place to start your night or to top it off.
We stopped by Sunday evening after a matinee show for drinks and small plates. The bright, airy and stylish venue features an expansive bar, but we decided to sit at one of the cozy tables for two. Service is helpful and friendly so don't hesitate to ask for some drink and menu suggestions.
We enjoyed one of their handcrafted cocktails, with an incredibly clever name, "Too Cool for School." This refresher is a balanced blend of Ginger Ale and Crop cucumber vodka, and St. Germaine. Another one of their tempting cocktails is "Sall's Peach-Tree" Margarita with Herradura, peach liqueur, agave, and fresh lime juice. Or have classics like a Manhattan or a Moscow Mule. For those that prefer, there's a very nice selection of beer and wines.
We indulged in some small plates, just right for sharing with drinks. Executive Chef Jamell Williams has designed a menu that has something for all tastes, but with an emphasis on fresh seafood. The creamy, savory Lobster and Truffle Mac n Cheese is a customer favorite as is the Crispy Calamari. We loved the tasty Shishito Peppers with blistered peppers, grana padano, sea salt, lemon and a house-made ranch sauce.
Sall serves a full dinner menu with exciting array of entrees that includes Atlantic Salmon, Scallops, Chicken and a special Burger. We'll be back soon for their Happy Hour to enjoy the great prices on beer and wine, cocktails for $10, and food specials.
Stop by Sall once and we suggest you'll become a regular. The atmosphere, food and drink is just what the neighborhood needed!
