If you haven't gotten your tickets yet for Spirit Cruises, we suggest that you do. This fabulous cruise line has many types of excursions that make an afternoon or evening on the Hudson River a real getaway. Spirit Cruises leave from both Chelsea Piers in Manhattan and Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken New Jersey. Cruises include the "Eat, Drink & B. Mary" Brunch cruise, Happy Hour Cocktail Cruise, Yoga on the Water Cruise and their ever-popular Dinner Cruise. And the Spirit crew makes sure that your trip is a pleasure from the moment of departure to the final docking.

We boarded the Spirit of New York on a spring Sunday for their "Eat, Drink & B. Mary" Brunch cruise. The excursion on this sleek, modern vessel included a delicious meal and captivating views. The trip commenced at 12:00 noon and lasted for two delightful hours.

As we were seated at our table on one of the stylish dining decks, our server Terrance offered us a selection from their wonderful beverage program. A highlight of the brunch drink menu is their "Build-Your-Own" Bloody Mary with choices of vodkas and garnishes. The full service bar includes wine, beer and signature cocktails. We enjoyed the refreshing St. Germain cocktail and sipped it as our boat left the dock.

Brunch is served buffet style with breakfast fare like fruit salad, eggs, bacon, cereals, bagels and muffins. Luncheon choices include items like salad, pasta, baked fish and chicken. Be sure to bring a good appetite. The food is beautifully presented and you are welcome to return to buffet during your cruise. This makes your meal a pleasant, leisurely experience.

While the interior dining decks are incredibly comfortable, we suggest you venture to the outdoor areas. Even native New Yorkers will be amazed by the fantastic views of the city. Our Cruise Director, Joey Douglas kept everyone entertained with great musical selections and also provided fascinating facts about the area's attractions like Ellis Island and lower Manhattan.

We also met Sr. Captain, Edgar Montalvo who pointed out that the New York and New Jersey Spirit Cruise guests have some of the best viewing opportunities as their ships pass by the Statue of Liberty, the Freedom Tower and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Don't forget to wear your dancing shoes, there will be an opportunity to show off your moves on their spacious dance floor before your afternoon ends. You can be sure that you and your "mates" will have many happy memories of Spirit's "Eat Drink & B. Mary" Brunch Cruise.

Take your next mini-vacation with Spirit Cruises. You will be relaxed, refreshed and looking forward to the next one. Spirit Cruises can accommodate many types of group events. Consider a cruise for birthday parties, anniversaries, family celebrations, alumni gatherings and corporate events.
