Champagne Taittinger was the exclusive champagne poured at the 25th anniversary of the James Beard Chefs & Champagne event, held Saturday, July 25th at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Southampton, NY. This year, the event honored TV personality, chef, and author Carla Hall for her personal contribution in celebrating, nurturing, and honoring America's diverse culinary heritage and future.

Taittinger's Sommelier Ambassador Carrie Lyn Strong, Wine Director at Aureole New York, created a spectacular Champagne Tower on stage to celebrate the honoree and the participating chefs as each took a bow on stage. More than 40 renowned chefs prepared signature summer dishes for hundreds of guests to taste and enjoy alongside Taittinger at the foundation's largest fundraising event of the year. Susan Ungaro, President of The James Beard Foundation, congratulated each chef with a bottle of Taittinger Brut La Française.

"As one of the last family-owned and operated Grand Marque Champagne houses, Champagne Taittinger is the quintessential drink for celebratory moments," said Carrie Lyn Strong. "Produced with an exceptional proportion of first press wines, and with a higher percentage of chardonnay, the crisp acidity in Taittinger Brut La Française makes it the perfect food wine, cutting through rich, savory meats, and the sweetest of sauces. An affordable and luxurious choice at $50 retail, the Brut paired beautifully with the cuisine represented at this year's event."

Chefs & Champagne is the foundation's largest annual summer tasting party. Throughout the festivities, there was a presentation of cuisine from over 40 celebrated chefs, many of whom are from JBF Award-winning restaurants. Chefs from all over the country attended, including Anthony Bucco (Restaurant Latour), Amanda Cohen (Dirty Candy NYC), Daniel Eddy (Rebelle NYC), Brad Farmerie (Saxon + Parole) and Chef Jaramillo (Blue Water Grill).

The Taittinger Bicycle was also unveiled during the event, and consumers, media, and chefs alike all came over for a quick ride.
