Jones Wood Foundry on the Upper East Side has long been the charming go-to spot in the neighborhood that is known for delicious British fare. Now, with their new seasonal menu, there are even more varied meal choices to delight guests. The venue features their spacious bar, a comfortable rustic dining room, and lovely outdoor patio space for the nice weather. These seating options allow guests plenty of choices. Gather your group, plan a date night, or go solo and make a few new friends. You will feel welcome the moment you step in the door.

We came by for an early Sunday dinner. Executive Chef Arjuna Bull has created delicious seasonal dishes full of fall flavors with items that also complement the restaurant's traditional choices. For November, guests can select from appetizers that include Poachers Game Consomme, a Wild Mushroom Salad or Sardines Escabeche. We tasted one the special entrees, Pumpkin Gnocchi and it was the best we have ever had. The light, savory pasta is garnished with Smoked Pecorino, Mangalica Lardo, Pepitas, Sage, and Brown Butter. Other tempting seasonal entree choices include Griggs Town Pheasant, and Sauteed Striped Bass. Be sure to check the Jones Wood Foundry menu monthly to learn about the new additions.

Those who enjoy elevated British pub food have definitely found a home. Their classic menu includes selections you will keep coming back with starters like their Yorkshire Pudding Pop-Over, French Onion Soup or a British Cheese Board. Main courses include the best burgers in the neighborhood, Bangers & Mash, Roast Chicken and Lamb Shank Vindaloo. They definitely serve the most tasty Fish and Chips in the city. While the cuisine features the finest meats and fish, guest will find choices to suit all tastes and dietary preferences.

You will want to have dessert. Generous portions of their sweets will top off your meal. A house favorite is the luscious Sticky Toffee Pudding with rum sauce and vanilla ice cream. The seasonal dessert is the Warm JWF Doughnut coated with a spiced sugar and served with vanilla ice cream and caramel.

The beverage program is very pleasing with cask ale, ciders, draft beer, bottled beer, and a fine wine list to pair with your meal. There's also a selection of creative wine and beer cocktails. We especially enjoyed their house brew, the Jones Wood IPA.

It's good for our readers to know that Jones Wood Foundry has an online grocery store where you can order some of their specialties in advance and pick them up to serve at home. It includes their Scotch Eggs, Bangers by the pound, Onion Gravy and Pies.
