Review: HAVEN ROOFTOP for Prix Fixe Pre-Theater Dining in Times Square

You have show tickets and we have the dining spot for you in the heart of Times Square. Haven Rooftop, located at Sanctuary Hotel on 47th Street, is just steps away from the Broadway. With their prix fixe, pre-theatre dinner special, this venue makes your visit to The Great White Way a total pleasure. The three-course meal is only $49, served from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm seven days a week. The timing is perfect for just after a matinee or before an evening show.

We dined at Haven Rooftop on a Saturday evening. The airy, chic restaurant has great views and seating options for parties of all sizes. From singles and couples to groups, the staff is ready to accommodate theatergoers. And Haven Rooftop's prix-fixe pre-theatre special has just the right number of options to suit all tastes.

Starters include their Kale Salad with avocado, raisins and sunflower seeds and a lemon dressing or their Crispy Calamari. We enjoyed top Italian appetizers, the Caprese Salad with buffalo Mozzarella and the Prosciutto & Melted Mozzarella.

The second course entrees are wonderfully presented. The Havenly Chicken has tender roasted slices with a savory beurre Blanc sauce and is served with mesculin salad and light crispy French fries. And the Pan Seared Salmon is cooked to perfection with a side of sautéed spinach. There is also the choice of Penne Pasta or Mussels and Frites.

Desserts are luscious. They include a choice of Panna Cotta, Chocolate Mousse or Crème Brulee. Haven Rooftop offers a great option for serving your dessert. You may want to get to the theatre or be too full to have the third course right away. Just let your server know that you'd like to come back after the show. Late night at Haven Rooftop gives you an opportunity to relax and take in the lights of the city.

Haven Rooftop's beverage program has made it a go-to spot for Times Square visitors. We enjoyed a few of the new drinks from their summer menu. Rose Sangria is refreshing and pairs well with menu items. And the Orbit cocktail is a well-balanced blend of Brockmans Gin, fresh blueberries, tonic water and mint. There's also a nice selection of wine, beer and sparkling.

We like that the servers at Haven Rooftop are gracious and efficient insuring that you make your curtain in plenty of time. There's nothing better in New York City than a fine meal and a top show.
