The November debut of Duet Brasserie at 37 Barrow Street, on the corner of 7th Avenue, signaled the arrival of three new globally-influenced contemporary American culinary experiences in the West Village. This new restaurant has fine dining, a café and a boutique bakery.

The 3500-square feet of the distinctive two floor triangular-shaped 90-seat space will house a casual fine dining destination restaurant for dinner, neighborhood café at breakfast and lunch and a bakery boutique. Executive Chef /Partner, Dmitry Rodov and his wife, Executive Pastry Chef Diana Rodov, cater to a broad spectrum of early morning to late night moods and appetites. Here's the place where you can enjoy a fresh-baked croissant and cup of artisanal Italian coffee on the run to a leisurely romantic dinner of sophisticated fare.

For dinner, Duet Brasserie interior space has two candle-lit dining rooms, the more understatedly elegant being on the second floor with its graceful custom-made Swarovski crystal festooned chandelier and wood-framed mullioned windows.

Chef Rodov's French accented cosmopolitan cuisine for evening meals, presented in theatrical, often whimsical style, with tableside service flourishes will consist of such dishes as Brie en Croute with wild mushrooms; Organic Roast Duck (an 85-year old family recipe), honey/brandy/ Bosc pear stuffing, dried cherry Port sauce; Beef Wellington, foie gras and truffles; Classic Lardon Salad, frisee, bacon lardons, crumbled goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, poached egg, polenta croutons, sherry vinaigrette; and Chef Rodov's Signature Seafood Pot (for four) mussels, clams, lobster, scallops, calamari and shrimp in creamy fish broth.

A four-course $75 prix fixe will be available nightly, as will a 10-course tasting menu for $200, in addition to the à la carte offerings.

During the day, the natural- light filled, white- tile clad ground floor with a wall of French windows opening onto 7th Avenue will be available for breakfast, brunch and lunch daily. The first floor's 45 seats will be dedicated to an expansive menu of informal food, more than 75 egg dishes, appetizers, raw bar selections, salads, sandwiches, burgers, main courses, large platters and sides. Highlights will include: 10 iterations of Eggs Benedict with the likes of lobster and truffle options; Syrniki (Russian Cheese appetizer), farm cheese patties bathed in sugar, vanilla and egg, served with sour cream and Duet jam; Foie Gras Sandwich, truffle tapenade, arugula, sherry vinaigrette, raspberry jam on a baquette; Brick Pressed Organic Chicken; and three Burger options, Kobe beef and lobster among them.

The ground floor will also be the site of the Bakery boutique, where house -made sweet goods, as well as hand-crafted organic jams, 24 varieties of specialty teas and the dazzling custom made cakes that have made the Rodovs' Brooklyn- based Duet Bakery so successful will be sold. A sampling of the Bakery's presentation includes : Violet Dream, white chocolate mousse, cassis cremeaux, chocolate chiffon; Poppyseed Chiffon Cake, dulce de leche, apricot glaze; White Chocolate Cheesecake, chocolate mousse, chocolate glaze; Le Saint Laurent (gluten free) chocolate dulce de leche mousse, raspberry cremeaux, caramelized almonds and hazelnuts; and Florentines - Almond or Pecan - (gluten free), tuile cookies with chocolate ganache filling.

Additionally, the Bakery will feature a selection of fresh- baked breakfast pastries for grab-and-go morning sustenance, complemented by coffee from Miscela d'Ora, a third generation family business that has been roasting premium Italian coffee with a Sicilian accent since 1946.

Duet Brasserie's beverage program will present teas from Dethlefsen & Balk, one of the world's older tea trading companies, its origins dating to 1836. The full bar will focus on classic cocktails and the 75-bottle wine list will specialize in American and European production.

Duet Brasserie draws the name "Duet" from a multitude of couplings: its duo of day and night personas; spouses who are world-class chefs; owners Dmitry Rodov and Natalya Batash, friends since their Ukrainian childhood; two establishments in two boroughs, Brooklyn's Duet Bakery; two distinctive dining experiences; restaurant and patisserie; and the intersection of Barrow St. and Seventh Ave.

Duet Brasserie, located at 37 Barrow St, will be open every day for breakfast / brunch and lunch from 8 am to 5 pm. Dinner will be 5 to 10 pm on Sunday and Monday, 5 to 11 pm on Wednesday and until midnight on Thursday. Friday and Saturday, dinner will be served from 5 pm to 1 am.
