Having re-defined the concept of "weekend brunch" by making it a three-day affair with the addition of Friday service, Bustan on the Upper West Side of New York City is now applying its singular multi-cultural approach to Mediterranean food to lunch from Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Bustan's new lunch menu is an enticing synthesis of some of Executive Chef Efi Nahon's most popular dinner and brunch dishes with two lunch-specific entrée-sized salads. The midday meal offerings are categorized as small plates or Mezettim. There are also a variety of tasty flatbreads and specialty "Sambousak" which are pastries enveloped savories such as preserved tuna, potatoes, black olives, harissa, hardboiled egg and Nazareth tahini. They will also be presenting entrees that include Bustan's top-selling Lamb Terra Cotta; La Boite spiced Colorado lamb kebab, charred onion, tomato, pistachio and tahini baked in flaky bread dome.

Bustan also boasts a burger entrée for lunch. The Bustan Burger has aged Vermont cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, garlic-rosemary aioli. It's presented with fries or salad, as are all the lunch sandwiches including the Breaded Chicken with sweet dijon mustard, smoked duck, wilted kale charred onion and buffalo bleu.

Luncheon salads include Kale Caesar with lentil, asparagus, mushroom, parmesan cheese, Spanish anchovies, painperdu croutons and eggless Caesar aioli. And their Seared Tuna has eggplant, fingerling potato, hardboiled egg, tomato, lamata olive, baby arugula, pickled mango and tahini.

Bustan's signature Hummus Bowl is also available and can have intriguing ingredients added like wild mushrooms and lamb kebab. The restaurant's delicious house baked flatbread is being also presented midday.

The new lunch menu presents a number of tempting options for vegetarians with several tasty dishes and gluten free choices are also available.
