Residents and visitors of Jersey City should prepare themselves for some of the best barbecue on the East Coast as Zeppelin Hall Biergarten and Restaurant announces that they will expand their menu by adding an extensive BBQ component to their already tantalizing menu. They also are happy to announce they have modified their name to Zeppelin Hall Biergarten & Barbecue.

The establishment is the largest biergarten in the metropolitan area with 100-plus beers available and is well known for their quirky, monthly extravagant food festivals and night time bar scene.

The decision for the BBQ expansion started when Director of Operations John Argento spent time in Danny Meyer's Blue Smoke kitchen while researching another project. This visit inspired Argento and Zeppelin Hall's Chef Robazetti to purchase a Southern Pride smoker & start to create mouthwatering, slow smoked dishes of Brisket, Pork Ribs, Chicken Wings, Pulled Pork, Beef Ribs and Sausage for their 2015 Barbecue Fest. Following the overwhelmingly positive reaction, the duo began to research the correlation between German and Texas style barbecue and found that the slow smoking process dates back to when German immigrants settled in Texas in the 1800's.

"Chef Franco Robazetti and I worked hard to perfect our barbecue and we've achieved it," said Argento, who was the owner of iconic 80's dance club Danceteria. He continues, "To guarantee the authenticity of our BBQ, we sent Chef Franco on a pork pilgrimage to Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, and the Carolinas to taste the best barbecue in the country. He sampled dishes from over 28 different restaurants, roadside shacks and renowned pit masters such as James Beard winner, Aaron Franklin from Franklin BBQ. He brought back some treasured BBQ secrets and techniques and we have put our own Teutonic twist on it."

The restaurant will continue to feature the traditional German and American fare that is so loved by patrons, but they will also dedicate a page of the menu to slow smoked barbecue with dishes such as BBQ Brisket, St. Louis style ribs, slow smoked pulled pork, smoked chicken and beef ribs along with classic BBQ sides. Additionally, the biergarten has created new weekly specials such as Mussel Mania Wednesdays, Family Night Tuesdays, Endless Happy Hour Thursdays and will continue their monthly food themed events with the Some Like It Hot Food Festival, Celtic Week, The Whole Hog Festival, The Chili Cook-off, and their most popular annual event, Bacon Fest. To add to the BBQ vibe, Zeppelin Hall will have live country bands at 10pm Fridays and Saturdays with Big Hixx on February 19th, Brian Clayton Bant on February 20th, and Jake's Rockin Country Band on February 26th and 27 and DJs or bands every Friday and Saturday night going forward until the weather warms up.

Zeppelin Hall is located at 88 Liberty View Drive in Jersey City, New Jersey. The authentic European style biergarten is comprised of three indoor rooms and a huge tree lined outdoor garden. Featuring communal table seating arrangements, Zeppelin Hall acts as a "living room for the neighborhood" and is conveniently located at the Jersey Avenue Light Rail stop, and a few blocks from the PATH Train Grove St. station. There is unlimited free parking. For more information, visit: http://www.zeppelinhall.com/.
