BWW Preview: VEGETARIAN VISION Hosts International Vegetarian Convention in NYC 9/9 and 9/10

Vegetarian Vision will celebrate its 25th anniversary during the International Vegetarian Convention at Penn Plaza Pavilion (401 Seventh Ave. at 33 St., NYC) on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10, 2017. The weekend will highlight compassion and healthy living and feature non-stop food, fun, fitness, and wellness. The family-friendly festivities will include demonstrations, speakers, classes, tastings, and live cultural performances, beginning at 10 AM daily. Tickets are $15 for one day and $25 for the weekend.

During the two-day event, renowned celebrities and political leaders will be on hand to celebrate all things vegetarian. An expected 150 merchants and vendors will be on site to introduce guests to the pleasure of vegetarianism. More than 20 restaurants will serve up plant-based, vegetarian and vegan fare from around the globe. Indian, Chinese Japanese, Indonesian, French, Kosher and American chefs will conduct cooking demonstrations and offer tasty samples throughout the day and adults will also be able to taste various vegan wines from a variety of purveyors while children enjoy various activities in the "Kids' Corner."

Respected practitioners will lead group classes in Anusara, Hatha, Restorative and Vinyasa yoga, offer tips on meditation and guidance into obtaining balance in life. Entertainment will be provided by popular performers and musicians and Bollywood dancers who will offer instruction in the most current trends. In addition, leading medical experts and wellness practitioners will be speaking and offering guidance, including hypnotherapists, acupuncturists and Ayurveda practitioners.

"Today there are more than 375 million vegetarians worldwide," explained 86-year old Harshad K. Shah, the founder of the Vegetarian Vision Inc. "When we held our first festival in New York City there were nearly 17,000 attendees. Since then the vegetarian convention has continued to grow and attract an even wider, more diverse crowd." Shah, who has been a vegan for decades, created the non-profit organization to introduce people to the physical and spiritual benefits of embracing a vegetarian lifestyle.
