The International Center of Photography (ICP), the world's leading institution dedicated to photography and visual culture, is tapping Great Performances (GP), the sustainability oriented New York City food service and events company, to re-invent and operate the ICP Museum's café, located at 250 Bowery on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Reimagined and debuting this fall as the Capa Café, a nod to ICP founder and noted photojournalist, Cornell Capa. The 40-seat eatery features a revamped menu, complete with a robust coffee and tea offering as well as seasonally sensitive fare for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks, including baked on-site breads and pastries, made-to-order sandwiches, and hot entrées.

The Capa Café will become a favored neighborhood morning destination thanks to the availability of such hot items as Bacon Onion Frittata, tumbleweed Cheddar, tomato jam, English muffin and Avocado Toast, smashed avocado with egg, shaved radish and pea tendrils.

It also provides attractive lunch options, including composed seasonal salads, hot entrées, and enticing special sandwich selections, such as: the Gordon Parks, smashed meatball with Katchkie Farm tomato jam, braised kale, mozzarella; the Man Ray, chicken Milanese with baby arugula, shaved pecorino, onion confit, pesto; and the Gerda Taro, tuna wrap with celery, grape, red onion, arugula, white balsamic. All sandwiches are served with homemade kettle chips and GP's signature Thunder Pickles, made from organic pickles grown at GP's upstate NY Kachkie Farm. Beer and wine now round out the beverage options, and all food will be available for those who wish to dine-in or take-out.

The Capa Café also unveils a new look in late September, brought to life by GP's design department. The new design builds on existing elements including clean and modern lines in black, white, and grey tones adding accent colors via signage and menus. Greenery provides a fashionable facelift for the crowd-friendly space.

The Capa Café at 250 Bowery, New York, NY 10012 is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
