To commemorate Australia Day 2016, Burke & Wills Australian Bistro on the Upper West Side will be offering a special prix fixe menu of nationally-inspired dishes from "down under" by Executive Chef Rodrigo Nogueira with an optional all-Aussie wine pairing. The special selections will be available for guest on Tuesday, January 26th.
Australia Day celebrates Captain Arthur Phillip's arrival to the continent in 1788. Phillip's mission was to establish an agricultural work camp, and as a result of his strong leadership the settlement began to prosper. The population continued to grow, and in January of 1901 the colonies joined to form the Commonwealth of Australia.
Begin your meal at Burke & Wills with an amuse bouche of Oyster Kilpatrick with Jansz Premium Sparkling Rose, followed by an appetizer of Kangaroo Loin with sweet potato, bok choy and pomegranate reduction. For a main dish, try the Rack of Australian Lamb with brussels sprouts and rosemary butter, then relax with a cheese plate and finish sweet with Hazelnut Bread Pudding.
The menu will run during normal dinner hours beginning at 5:30. It is priced at $60 per person for 5 courses, or $95 per person with the all-Australian wine pairing. All dishes are also available a la carte. Reservations are required. Call 646. 823.9251 or email eat@burkeandwillsny.com.
