Lobster has become de rigueur for Chinese New Year celebratory feast and where better savor everyone's favorite crustacean while saluting the Year of the Rooster than Burger & Lobster? Especially given the lobster choices, from whole one-pounders for those with delicate appetites up to as many as 19 pounds for those of Jurasic appetites, or, more likely, for eight-to-ten lobster lovers.
Whatever the size, they can be steamed or grilled and are served with salad and fries. Then there are the restaurant's three different signature lobster rolls in warm custom made potato brioche buns - The Original, lobster tossed in Japanese may with chives; The 7 Samurai, lobster dressed in ginger mayo with cucumbers, sesame and tagarashi; and The Fiesta, lobster tossed in chipotle mayo with corn, white cabbage and peppers.
Served by staff wearing rooster t-shirts or Chinese-themed costumes, celebrants will be able to wash their lobster down with a selection of Chinese beers and discover what may be ahead for 2017 courtesy of complimentary future cookies. And there will be some entertainment fireworks when the colorful traditional Chinese dragon dances through the restaurant.
The Chinese New Year celebration at Burger & Lobster will be Saturday, Jan. 28 from 11;30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Burger & Lobster is located at 39 W. 19th, between Fifth and 6th.
